Mark your calendar for May 7 to May 11, 2008, Lagoons RV Resort, Rockport, Texas.  It's right on the coast, near Port Aransas, and the town itself looks a bit like south Florida back in the late 1950's.  It still has small "mom-n-pop" stores, not much traffic, lots of sunshine and warm breezes, fishing, beachy music, margaritas before dinner, etc.

We'll have a catered dinner featuring pecan-crusted chicken on Wednesday, followed by introductions of new members, a presentation by the Rockport Chamber of Commerce, and a special speaker who will talk about the early settlement of Rockport and the hurricane of 1913.  We're told he dresses the part!

A full breakfast will be followed by gaming day aboard the Texas Treasure Casino Cruise on Thursday.  The cost is $10 which includes an international buffet, live entertainment and complimentary drinks while gaming.  A shuttle bus will pick us up at Lagoons about 10 AM and bring us back about 5 PM.  A full dinner catered by the Apple Dumpling Deli will be provided after the trip.  There is no entertainment planned for this evening.

We will have our business meeting right after breakfast on Friday morning.  The rest of the day is free for golf, deep sea fishing, beaching, shopping, etc.  We have planned a margarita party before dinner accompanied by appropriate Jimmy Buffet music and will follow with a shrimp & seafood entree.  Please bring your favorite side dish or dessert to accompany the entree.  Musical entertainment will follow.

Following Saturday breakfast, you will have the day free to shop, beach, fish, etc.  Happy hour at 5 PM will be followed by a barbecue dinner and dessert.  Drawings and door prizes will complete the evening.

Sunday will come too soon -- a continental breakfast will be provided, and then it's time to say goodbye until October.
